Saturday the 10th of August is the final meeting in relation to our chosen national charity Aoibheanns Pink Tie.
Following on from our very very successful launch in July, it is vitally important that any county or station willing to take part in this amazing charity drive need to attend this final event to collect their Aoibheanns Pink Tie t-shirts, high visibility vests, collection buckets, collection posters, and all relevant information with regards to permits, Garda clearance etc. This charity needs our help in providing accommodation for the families of children with cancer throughout every county and town in Ireland, now and into the future.
None of us know what is round the corner for us, our children, our grandchildren or extended family circles. We as firefighters now have an opportunity to show the fullest compassion towards our communities in towns and counties right across the state by taking part in this mammoth task and showing our support to these terribly unfortunate children and their families. All we ask is to please give this charity 1 day of your year, and what a difference that 1 day will make to the lives of families all across Ireland who’s lives have been dealt this awful disease which is cancer. Together WE can make a monumental difference. Together WE can achieve this, and together WE will be able to look back in year’s to come and be able to say that WE, as firefighters, came together and delivered for the less fortunate families of Ireland for now and into the future. So I urge you colleagues, not to miss out on this remarkable opportunity that is being presented to us, to show the people of Ireland, and the firefighters themselves, what Ireland’s firefighter is capable of when WE ALL come together as ONE! I ask you to please leave politics aside, and let us come together as ONE and deliver for the CHILDREN OF OUR NATION!
See you on the 10th of August Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth @ 3 pm.
