Charitable Activities

The National Retained Firefighters Association are proud to be associated with the Aoibheann’s Pink Tie and the wonderful work they do. Our 10-year plan is to help with the development of accommodation for families when they are going through their toughest of times. We never know when we might find ourselves in a position of need, but you can be rest assured that should something happen, Aoibheann’s will be there, sometimes without you even realising.

Our decision to partner with Aoibhinns Pink Tie was a rather easy one given the dedicatication of their volunteers and transparancy of funding with 96% of proceeds collected for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie goes directly into the charity itself, with the final 4% being utilised for the only 2 part time staff that keep the charity running and other costs incurred by the organisation.

On August 31st 2019, the the first ever National Bucket Collection driven by the N.R.F.A. to raise funds for Aoibhinns Pink took place across the country, which saw firefighters across Ireland take to their towns and villages in an effort to raise vital funds for this incredible cause and was a resounding success.

Ireland's Retained Firefighters are adept at extinguishing fires, and while peadatric cancer is not one we are equipped to extinguish, we can help make the lives of those enduring such a pain and hardship a little easier, and in the face of adversity we continue to power on with a number of fund raising events planned for 2021.
