Aoibhinns Pink Tie

A little Journey with Aoibheann's Pink Tie

The National Retained Firefighters Association will officially launch this year’s National Bucket Collection in aid of Aoibheanns Pink Tie this coming Saturday, July 20th 2019 at the Glen Royal Hotel, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

The launch will coincide with a Fun Day at the Maynooth Venue for the Children of St Johns Ward, Crumlin Children’s Hospital, the leading pediatric cancer care facility in the country. Our VIP’s from St. John’s Ward will arrive under Gardai & Fire Service escort and enjoy a much needed break from the confines of a hospital setting. Sure to be an action packed fun day for all, we would like to invite the families and friends of Fire Service personnel to come join in the party from 2pm on Saturday.

Following the festivities, the National Retained Firefighters Association will officially launch this year’s Bucket Collection to be held nationally on August 31st. On the day of the collection, firefighters across Ireland will don Pink ties & vests instead of the usual turnout coat, and take to the streets of the cities and towns across Ireland to raise much funds for a very worthy, and deserving cause.

Funds raised on the day will contribute to the ultimate goal; to build accommodation in close proximity to the new National Children’s Hospital, to support the parents and families of children attending the cancer ward. This purpose built accommodation will in a small way ease the burden for families of children attending the ward, and remove the stress and costs of arranging accommodation in Dublin, while their child receives life changing treatment.

We are asking you, the firefighters of Ireland to give up just a few short hours on August 31st to help raise funds and achieve this goal. To get involved and learn more about what’s happening on the day please get in touch.

Looking forward to seeing you all there on the day.
